BRITISH GYPSUM PLANT, UK - Engineers at the British Gypsum Plant are required to maintain a network of 50 Allen Bradley PLCs networked to an RSLINX application server. Many of the PLCs are coupled to product weighing and mixing equipment which has to be regularly calibrated in order to maintain the company’s high quality standards. The existing weighing stations are not fitted with local displays so calibration with test loads is time consuming. Formac’s iBit™ Browser solution has increased efficiency considerably by harnessing Wi-Fi technology to provide a hand held PDA display and capture function. Calibration data captured by iBit Browser is saved on the application server.
